marco?
marco?
Marco? is a photographic experiment that reimagines the childhood game Marco Polo. Transposed into darkness, the game becomes a metaphor for searching, listening, and navigating the uncertainty of emotions.
Location: A completely dark and empty space.
Participants: Six contemporary dancers dressed in black, and one photographer.
Rule: The photographer is blindfolded, holding only a camera with a flash.
The photographer calls out: “Marco?” The dancers respond: “Polo”—not only with their voices but also with improvised movements. Each dancer embodies one of six fleeting states: joy, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust.
